How Many Weight Watchers Points Is Applesauce

Unsweetened applesauce

I have a question about applesauce. WW lists unsweetened applesauce as 0 points. I bought some commercially made applesauce the other day. Ingredients says apples and water but when I scan it in the WW app it lists it as 4 points for 1/2 cup. Is this just because all the options the came up are entered by other users and not WW itself? I'm assuming if you entered it in manually like they did it wouldn't take into account the 0 points?

If you enter the nutritional value of zero point foods, they'll come up with points. Just type in "unsweetened applesauce" and there should be an entry that lists it as zero points. General rule of thumb is to track zero point foods but don't scan them.

I'm not sure I agree with this. When I scan fat free Greek yogurt I get zero points, when I scan a pack of chicken breasts I get zero points, and when I scan my bottles of unsweetened apple sauce I also get zero points. The app knows how to recognize zero point foods. If upon scanning you get 4 points, then maybe if isn't unsweetened after all.

I would be a bit more hesitant to just accept this one as zero points, I have scanned a lot of apple sauce in my grocery store and some (like treetop) is zero points and others give values; I always go with the one that's gives me a zero on the scan.

You can always check the ingredients too, and nutrition label. Check for sugar and fat, which is what causes something to have points, in general

You can always chat with the coach on the app and ask. I've done this for a few similar products and it's really helped! I ran across the same issue scanning unsweetened applesauce pouches at Aldi.

I scanned motts unsweetened apple sauce and it came up as zero points. Hope that helps
